It is almost from the younger designers that we can find bolder ideas, fresh and trendy, and the Portuguese Susana Bettencourt is not an exception. Launched the BLOOM (a stage for young designers) in this edition of Portugal Fashion 2013, the young designer was inspired by the art of tiling and in the typical colors of Portuguese Tile (blue and yellow) to create the collection with the same name"Tile" for next summer. In her last collection Susana Bettencourt had followed the international trends that have given utmost importance to digital prints, in which fashion designers had achieved true pieces of art in a 2-dimensional symmetry, whose pinnacle is Mary Katrantzou. The silhouettes were very simple and fluid where the focus is for all prints. The press release said about the collection; " the Tile is a way of recording memory - the expression of a people's history." Of course, Susana Bettencourt loved to tell that story of a lost culture. All the romance, beauty and melancholy that the Portuguese tiles told, are now revived by this latest Bettencourt's collection which closes the trilogy, after "Conductive Wire of Life" (SS 12) and "web" (AW 12/13) .
É quase sempre nos mais novos criadores que se encontram as ideias mais ousadas e frescas na moda portuguesa, Susana Bettencourt não é pois excepção. Inaugurando o espaço BLOOM nesta edição do Portugal Fashion 2013, a jovem designer inspirou-se na técnica da azulejaria e nas cores tipicas do azuleijo português ( azul e amarelo) para criar a colecção "Tile" para o próximo verão. Atenta às tendências internacionais que têm dado extrema importância às estampagens, em que os criadores têm conseguido autênticas obras de arte numa simetria a 2 dimensões e cujo expoente máximo é Mary Katrantzou , Bettencourt trás-nos uma colecção des silhuetas simples e fluídas onde o destaque vai todo para os prints. E como se diz na press release da colecção, o azuleijo é uma forma de registo da memória - a expressão da história de um povo. E Susana Bettencourt adorou contar essa história de uma cultura ansiã e muitas vezes perdida. Todo o romance, melancolia e beleza que os azuleijos portugueses sabem contar, são agora revividos por esta última colecção da designer do Norte que depois de "Conductive Wire of Life" (SS 12) e "Web" (AW 12/13) fecha a trilogia.
